Begin your journey in the diverse city of Glasgow and travel the West Highland Lune to the Firth of the Clyde and Gareloch. Enjoy a trip along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and travel deeper into the Western Highlands, northwards to Crianlarich over Rannoch Moor.
Harry Potter fans and Outlander fans will rejoice, we’ll cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct made famous in Harry Potter, and visit the Callanish standing stones on the Isle of Lewis, the inspiration for the stone circle of Craigh Na Dun form the Outlander TV series.

Today you will arrive in the wonderful city of Glasgow in time for us to spend our first dinner together. Tonight, we’ll be staying at the Grand Central Hotel, adjoining central station.
Today you have a chance to take in one of the most beautiful Scottish rail journeys, the West Highland Line. Glide through the landscape of the Firth of Clyde and Gareloch, watching the stunning scenery go by. From Loch Long, we skirt the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and climb into the Western Highlands. We’ll continue northwards from Crianlarich, over Rannoch Moor and across the Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous with Harry Potter fans! Catch a glimpse of the Highlander Monument before we arrive in Mallaig, with views out across the Atlantic. Spend some leisure time enjoying Mallaig before meeting up to take a ferry across the sea to the Isle of Skye to our hotel for the next two nights.
Enjoy the Isle of Skye today, the largest island in the inner Hebrides. We’ll visit Dunvegan Castle in the morning, located on the North West of the Island under the imposing eyes of the Cullin Hills. We’ll head to Portree, Skye’s capital town, for an afternoon of leisure around the colourful harbour.
Today we’ll relax as we travel along Loch Snizort to Uig for a ferry cruise to North Uist. We’ll go past many lochans and beaches taking in the stunning water journey towards Benbecula. We’ll be staying at the Isle of Benbecula House Hotel for a relaxing evening.
Another island to explore today, the Isle of Harris and Lewis. We’ll take in the rugged moorland and deep-sea loch, s well as the brooding mountains that little this area, taking in the history of the islanders. We’ll have the change to explore Harris with an expert local guide before moving on to Lewis’ capital, Stornoway, to our hotel for the next two nights.
We’ll enjoy a full-day tour of Lewis today, being shown around the stunning scenery and dramatic landscape by an island guide. This guide will include a traditional blackhouse settlement, the ancient broch at Carloway, and a tour of the impressive standing stones of Callanish, the inspiration for the fictional standing stones of Craigh Na Dun on the Starz TV series ‘Outlander’.
We bid farewell to the Hebrides today and journey southwards to Ullapool on the North Coast of Scotland. From here we’ll take a spectacular journey through to Inverness. Stirling Castle awaits, situated right near our hotel for the night.
We say goodbye today and journey homeward leaving our hearts in the Highlands.
