Highland Adventure

Experience the Highlands on your own private adventure

There aren’t many places left in the world that evoke such a vision of wild mystery than the Scottish Highlands! A diverse landscape littered with deep forests, wild moorland, lochs and glens aplenty. Don’t miss a thing with this beautiful tour through the heartland of Scotland.

About this journey

Arrive in style at the Alexandra Hotel in Fort William. Take the West Highland Line through some beautiful landscapes of glens and lochs, mountains and forests as the magic of our adventure begins.

Experience the wildlife of the west coast, form seals to birds and even a golden eagle if we’re lucky. Enjoy whiskey at the Ben Nevis Distillery along with views across the Highlands.

Tour high above the land on the Glenfinnan Viaduct on the Jacobite line, spend some shopping time in Mallaig and enjoy views across the sea to the Isle of Skye.

This is a stunning journey, a jam-packed four days of adventure!

Day 1

Today you will be arriving at our hotel for this tour, the Alexandra Hotel in Fort William. If you are joining us as part of the rail inclusive package, we’ll meet in Glasgow and have an early evening meal before journeying on the West Highland Line to our hotel, flowing past some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland past lochs and glens, through forests and over mountains and moors.

Day 2

Today nature lovers rejoice, we’ll be on the lookout for seals, porpoises, diving birds, and hopefully even a golden eagle as we cruise on Loch Linnhe. There is free time in the afternoon to have a browse around the shops at Fort William before we partake in a Ben Nevis whiskey distillery tour (and enjoy a wee dram at the end). We’ll take a trip skyward in a Nevis Range Gondola to enjoy the scenery from way above and see the beautiful Ben Nevis and the stunning Highlands in all their glory.

Day 3

Harry Potter fans rejoice today as you’ll get the chance to board the world-famous Jacobite steam train* to Mallaig! This incredible terrain will tour over the Glenfinnan Viaduct where you’ll catch a glimpse of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument, Loch Eilt and Loch Shiel. The adventure is not over there though, the train continues on treating you to beautiful views out across the golden white sands of the Atlantic coastline. We’ll stop for some leisure time in Mallaig, where you can enjoy a wander around this pretty little harbour town and see if you can peer over the water towards the Isle of Skye. The journey back to Fort William is equally as stunning with dramatic scenery at every turn!

Day 4

Today is our last day, we’ll travel by rail from Fort William back to Glasgow, taking in some of the most beautiful landscapes of the British Isles. We’ll travel through moors and glens, onto the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and the shoes of the Clyde before pulling into our final destination of Glasgow and bidding farewell to new friends we’ve made on this stunning tour.

*In the unlikely event of the steam train being unavailable we reserve the right to substitute a diesel train or undertake the journey by road coach..
