Highland Rail Voyager

An adventure like no other

Are you ready to experience the heart of Scotland? Join us on this spectacular journey across hills and over mountains on this Highland adventure!

About this journey

We’ll have the pretty town of Beauly as our base, exploring the highlands from Inverness to Stirling, through Perth and Aviemore. We’ll try some seal spotting on the North Coast, learn about the history of the Highlands in Helmsdale and take in a wee dram at the Old Pulteney Distillery.

The Kyle Line is known as one of the greatest rail journeys in the world, a favourite with Sir Michael Pailin, and this adventure tour allows you the chance to take in the entire line from Inverness right through to Lochalsh.

Join us for this wonderful Scottish adventure!

Day 1

Our hotel for three nights is The Priory in the heart of Beauly. If you’re joining us having booked on the all-inclusive package, you’ll arrive via the Highland Line through Stirling, Perth and Aviemore to Inverness and board the connection to Beauly.

Day 2

Fancy a bit of seal spotting? Today’s journey will begin by coach, travelling North along the incredible coastal route where you may be lucky enough to spot a few seals lounging on the rocks. You’ll have time to spend at the fascinating Timespan Museum in Helmsdale to learn the history of the Highlanders. Onwards and upwards, our next stop is in John O’Groats, the most northerly point of Britain. The Old Pulteney distillery tour in Wick is next on the list, followed by a quick stop in Thurso along the Far North Line. We’ll make our way through the moorlands of Caithness, seeing if you can spot some of the gold that remains hidden beneath the rocks. Our coach back to the hotel follows the coastline at Broaro to the Muir of Ord.

Day 3

Today we’ll travel across the Kyle Line to the Kyle of Lochalsh, one of the most incredible rail journeys of the world. We’ll travel the entire line from Inverness right through to Lochalsh where you’ll enjoy lunch at the Lochalsh Hotel. The views on this journey are spectacular and we know you will be amazed.

Day 4

Today we bid farewell to the friends we’ve made along the ride and head homeward, but we’ll always have the memories of our wonderful trip.
