This is a very special journey, a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed!

Day 1

Spend today arriving at the Stirling Highland Hotel and relax in the calm atmosphere before dinner, spending a restful night before your journey begins!

Day 2

The early start is worth every moment as you’ll take advantage of the limited daylight hours to travel the West Highland Line on your way to Glasgow. You’ll take in the wild shores of Gareloch, Loch Long and Loch Lomond. A special treat for this journey is the trip across Rannoch Moor, which can only be accessed by foot or rail! We’ll twist around the imposing peaks of Ben Nevis as you travel through Fort William and take the Nevis Gondola cable car, travelling high up Aonach Mor to experience the stunning views. Settle those high-altitude nerves with a wee dram of whiskey at the Ben Nevis Distillery before settling in for two nights at the Alexandra Hotel.

Day 3

Today is the day we travel along the world-famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and see Bonnie Prince Charlie’s memorial, past the Caledonian Canal’s locks on our way to spend time in the beautiful Mallaig. Enjoy views across the Atlantic sea and catch a glimpse of Rhum and Eigg before you journey back to Fort William.

Day 4

This morning starts with a journey by coach across the Kyle of Lochalsh, taking in views of stunning glens and lochs, and catching a glimpse of Eilean Donan Castle. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy Michael Pailin’s The Kyle Line, “Great Railway Journey Of the World”. This fantastic journey meanders through the diverse landscapes across Scotland, taking in forests and lochs, glens and small intimate hamlets, finally pulling into Inverness to stay at the beautiful Mercure Hotel, conveniently located in the city centre for those last-minute gifts.

Day 5 – Christmas Eve

Today we travel on the Cairngorm Line, and enjoy views of the Grampians as we travel. We sail past the sweet little town of Pitlochry and arrive back in Stirling in time for lunch. Evening and afternoon entertainment is provided in the hotel including festive movie screenings and festive food, live music, and dancing to get you in the mood for the big day.

Day 6 – Christmas Day

Enjoy a relaxing day at the hotel, taking time to indulge in the leisure facilities on offer. Today is about enjoying the day and relaxing above all. Lunch will include a sparkling wine reception and a traditional Christmas lunch with all of the traditional trimmings. If you wish to join in the activities there will be a treasure hunt around Stirling organised by the hotel as well as a festive movie screening later in the afternoon. Entertainment and a light buffet sees the evening out.

Day 8 – Boxing Day

Today’s excursion is mainly by coach, exploring the fully festively decorated Royal Yacht Britannica. Take a walk in the footsteps of royals and dignitaries such as Sir Winston Churchill and Gandhi as you tour around this world-famous yacht.
